SAP acquires MaXware and Wicom Communications

Software company SAP has announced that they have acquired two privately held Scandinavian software companies MaXware and Wicom Communications.

MaXware is a identity management software developer while Wicom Communications designs call-center applications based on IP (Internet Protocol) technology.

SAP announced these acquisitions at its Sapphire customer event. They did not however reveal the financial aspects of these acquisitions.

The company further revealed that they now plan to integrate MaXware’s identity management features into its NetWeaver integration middleware.

This would enable their customers to centralize identity management and increase security across their various processes.

SAP also aims to use the Wicom’s IP-based contact center application to help businesses improve their customer service operations.

They also announced an agreement to collaborate with SunGard Data Systems.
