AOL acquiring Third Screen Media
Google acquired DoubleClick. Yahoo and Microsoft both responded by acquiring one advertising company each.
Now, AOL is joining the party as they have announced their decision to acquire Third Screen Media.
This deal is expected to help them in expanding their services in the mobile advertising market.
Third Screen Media already has an mobile ad network and an ad management platform. AOL said that it would now act as a subsidiary of their Advertising.com network.
AOL added in its report that their latest acquired company has “dozens” of brand advertisers, over 100 Web publishers and an undisclosed number of wireless carriers.
They can deliver mobile ads through WAP, downloadable applications, SMS, MMS and video.
