Motorola Razr2 to appear in South Korea first

Gill Hyun-chang, president of Motorola Korea Inc. said in a statement that the company’s upcoming Moto Razr2 mobile phone would be launched in South Korea ahead of a global launch in July.

He said: “Korean consumers are tech-savvy and leading the pack in terms of design. The launch of our latest phone in Korea first shows we’re confident about this product.”

The Razr2 mobile phone is slimmer than the original Razr mobile phone and features a larger screen and improved call quality compared with its predecessor.

The company sold more than 100 million units of the original Razr mobile phone in the market. But since then they have failed to found a suitable replacement to keep the momentum going.

Gill added about the South Korean market: “Razr has also been a steady seller in the Korean market and we hope the new phone will help us expand our market share here.”

he further said: “We’re not entirely relying on Razr 2 for Motorola’s growth. Being slim is just part of our marketing strategies.”

Motorola is the world’s second largest mobile phone maker after Nokia.
