Verizon Communications aims to launch quadruple play service this year

US based telecom company Verizon Communications has announced that they are aiming to launch their quadruple play services this year.

They would offer video, high-speed Internet, television and cell phone services in one service package in some of their markets.

Verizon Chief Operating Officer Denny Strigl said in a statement on their plans: “The quadruple play is something we’re planning to offer later this year. You’ll see that roll out where we do have a contiguous wireline and wireless footprint.”

He was speaking at the ongoing Reuters Global Technology, Media and Telecoms Summit in New York.

The company is already working on developing television and high-speed Internet services over a fiber network and is aiming to provide it to 9 million homes with by year end.

Strigl added: “There are only two players in the market today that are able to quickly bring to market a quadruple play. A partnership is something that is harder to bring to market than the offering that we will have.”
