Blake Jorgensen is the new CFO at Yahoo

Internet company Yahoo has announced that they are now appointing veteran investment banker Blake Jorgensen as its new chief financial officer.

Market experts believe that this move suggests that the company is now aiming to expand its services by acquiring companies not selling itself.

Jorgensen would be taking over from Susan Decker who is considered to be the most likely successor to Yahoo Chairman Terry Semel.

Decker would now be looking after the online advertising division of the company which has now become the company’s most important department as they aim to challenge the domination of Google in the market.

Jackson Securities analyst Brian Bolan spoke about this new development: “Any time a company picks an investment banker as its CFO, you have to think some deals might be in the offing. These guys are trained to do deals.”
