Dell announces Project Hybrid
Personal Computer maker Dell has announced their latest Project Hybrid initiative. This is the new company strategy for selling its products to enterprises.
Dell has been facing massive competition in this segment of the market with Hewlett Packard and IBM making big gains.
They have to be offensive in the business market considering they make bulk of their revenues from this segment of the PC Industry.
As per details available, Dell now plans to be heading in two directions simultaneously. They would start offering professional services that compete with HP and IBM. And they would also reinvigorate the direct sales model by simplifying the purchasing process to attract more customers.
The company would also be working on combining new software, services, and system architecture to address specific enterprise needs. Jay Parker, director, PowerEdge Servers at Dell spoke on this new initiative: “Companies can’t afford to build a new data center. They need to get more density from the same data center.”
