AV Birla group showcases their More. Retailing Brand

The Aditya Birla group has announced their entry into the Indian retailing market with the unveiling of their More. Brand.

Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chairman, AV Birla group spoke about this new Aditya Birla Retail division: “we believe that the Indian consumer is today undeserved. Our mission is to change the way people shop. We will give the Indian consumers a fundamentally better shopping experience and intend to be among the leading players in India.”

They would be launching their operations under two formats: Hypermarkets and Supermarkets.

Birla added that their first supermarkets under the `More.’ brand would open shortly in Pune. It would then be expanded to other major cities in the country.

They are going to invest in the region of Rs. 8,000-9,000 crore in the first three years in the Retailing division. Their rivals include Bharti, Reliance and several other players.
