Apple sued for false advertisements of their displays
Apple Inc. has been sued by two Mac users who are claiming that the company lied in their advertisements about their display units.
The lawsuit has been filed in the Superior Court in San Diego by Fred Greaves and Dave Gatley.
They are accusing the company of falsely advertising the capabilities of its MacBook and MacBook Pro displays.
One of the claims made by them is that the notebooks made by Apple are only capable of displaying the illusion of millions of colors through a technique known as dithering.
They are also pointing towards certain discussion threads on the Apple’s own forum for customers which have other people complaining about the quality of the displays.
The lawsuit further states: “Many such dissatisfied purchasers were chastised by Apple agents and employees for being too picky about their assessments of the quality of the display. Other dissatisfied purchasers were told they were imagining the complained about defects.”
