Boeing expecting big orders from India in next 20 years
US based aircraft manufacturer Boeing has said that they have high expectations from the ever growing Indian aviation market.
Boeing said that as per their estimates they are likely to get 492 plane orders from India in 20 years.
These orders could be worth as much as around USD 32 billion. Boeing Senior Vice-President (Sales) Dinesh S Keskar said in a statement: “From India, as per our estimates, Boeing expects about 492 civilian airplane over the next twenty years… The order size would be around $36 billion.”
He added that a majority of these orders would be for smaller regional jets, while the rest would be for the wide-bodied aircraft.
The year 2005 was a good one for Boeing with respect to the indian market as they received 101 firm order from India. These included orders from Air-india, Jet Airways, Spice Jet and the Indian Air Force.
Last year alone they received orders worth $15 billion from India. Boeing has to face serious competition from Airbus to enhance their market share in the orders for planes ordered by the Indian companies.
