mGinger: Getting paid to read SMS advertisements?

No one likes getting spam SMS messages on their mobile phones. But this could soon become a favorable trend as a new startup company in India mGinger.com has launched an initiative which pays you to read SMS based advertisements.

The Bangalore based company is now offering their services to anyone in India who has a mobile phone connection and is ready to get paid to get sms based advertisements.

The project has been launched by three engineers led by Chaitanya Nallan who is the CEO of the company. They are hoping to use ‘permission-based marketing’ to make SMS advertising a lucrative proposition.

The aim is to make it beneficial for both users and advertisers.

Nallan said in a statement that their project is aimed at nullifying the need to spam mobile phone users as the advertisers would now get a legal and safe way to get in touch with potential customers.

Interesting mobile phone users would be free to specify how many sms based ads they would like to receive on a daily basis. For each advertisement, mGinger would pay them 20 paisa. They are also going to benefit from referring the service to their friends and colleagues. For each referral based sms ad, the user would get paid an additional 10 paisa.

User would get entitled to get a payment as soon as his balance crosses Rs. 300. The company would then deliver the check of the amount to the user’s specified address.
