The Wall Street Journal: Avaya in talks for a possible sale
News media group The Wall Street Journal has reported that the telecom equipment manufacturer Avaya is currently talking with several private equity and strategic bidders about a possible sale of the company or some parts of it.
The company has a market capitalization of more than $6.1 billion and one of the parties it is talking with is said to be private equity firm Silver Lake Partners.
The report also claimed that the company has also been in talks about a deal with rival Nortel Networks Corp. However, these talks seems to have failed over certain issues related to terms and conditions of a possible deal.
The Wall Street Journal further said that the two companies are still exploring possibilities of a collaboration.
