V Thulasidas CMD and Vishwapati Trivedi JMD of merged Air India

The Indian government has finally revealed the names of the two people who would head the airline company formed after the merger of Air India and Indian.

Government has appointed current Air India head V Thulasidas as the CMD of the merged entity. The head of Indian (Airlines) Vishwapati Trivedi has been named the Joint Managing Director of the merged company.

As per the available information they would stay in these positions till March 31 next year or till further orders.

Their new positions would be valid from the day the merged entity starts functioning. The Indian government has also registered a new company named National Airlines Company Limited to ease the process of merger of Air India and Indian.

The government had earlier promised that the two airline companies would be merged by July this year.
