Maruti excels in reducing energy consumption at their Gurgaon plant

India’s dominating automaker Maruti has claimed that they have managed to bring down the overall energy consumption at its Gurgaon facility by as much as 26 per cent per vehicle.

They did this over a period of six years and the process is continuing still.

Maruti added in their statement that they have adopted various innovative measures to build a clean operational base. This has helped them to further reduce their consumption of water and waste generated in car manufacturing.

The company overall achieved a 31 per cent reduction in power consumption. The water consumption per vehicle has declined by 63 per cent over the past six years. Maruti further claimed that their waste generation has come down by 67 per cent over this period.

Maruti is also excelling in using the latest technologies to manufacture their vehicles which has helped them to reduce the carbon dioxide emissions (during manufacturing) per vehicle by over 39 per cent in the last five years.

The company has set some impressive benchmarks for their rivals to match.
