Rishad Premji set to join Wipro

Indian IT company Wipro has confirmed that the son of their chairman and majority owner Azim Premji is all set to join the company.

Rishad Premji is currently working with a global consultancy firm in Europe. He would be joining the company after the company gets the required shareholder approval.

This is necessary considering he is a relative of a director in the company.

A company spokesperson added: “Rishad Premji is going to join Wipro at a level commensurate with his background and experience”.

This could become the first step as the company prepares to find the eventual successor of Azim Premji.

Premji is one of the richest man in India due to his shareholding in Wipro which has a market capitalization of around $20 billion.

The company provides IT solutions and services and is one of the dominating players in India.
