Efficient Capital Structures want Vodafone to spin off stake in Verizon
A group of investors in the mobile service provider Vodafone Group PLC has asked the company to consider selling off its stake in the US based telecom company Verizon Wireless.
This shareholder group is demanding that the company returns this 40 billion pounds in cash back to the shareholders.
Vodafone has confirmed that they have received a letter from the investor group Efficient Capital Structures.
They have asked the company to put four motions up at its annual meeting on July 24. The primary demand is that the company stop focusing on the US market to enhance their investments in the growing markets in Europe and Asia.
The group claims that taking these steps would in the end improve Vodafone’s capital structure.
