Softbank gaining more subscribers compared to rival service providers
Softbank has become one of the most talked about mobile service providers in the Japanese market. The company is gaining new customers at a pretty fast pace.
The gains in the recent months have sparked hopes that the company would manage to overcome from the losses and become profitable in the coming times.
The company gained 162,400 users in May. They are still the smallest player in the segment but are progressing at a decent pace.
Market is dominated by NTT DoCoMo which is a 54% market share. Second largest player in Japan is KDDI with 29.2% of the market.
Softbank seems to have gained from their recently launched “White Family 24″ discount package. The package has been designed to let several family members call each other at a monthly fee of Y980.
