Malaysia Airlines collaborates with Octopus Travel
Struggling Asian airline company Malaysia Airlines has announced their collaboration with Octopus Travel, which is a global online company. This collaboration would enable the prospective Malaysia Airline customers to book tickets from various locations around the world.
Abdul Rashid Khan, Malaysia Airlines commercial director said in a statement on this new initiative: “We have seen an emerging trend of Internet savvy customers who no longer depend on traditional sales channels for their travel arrangements. It is one way to increase our revenue.”
Octopus Travel specializes in selling packages for hotel rooms, sightseeing tours, private transfers, car hire, and travel insurance. They are famous for providing huge discounts over prevailing rates in the market for these traveling ventures.
This partnership would see Octopus Travel provide the services through Malaysia Airlines’ website in 14 countries. Octopus has already collaborated with many other airline companies around the world for similar services including Air France, Virgin Blue, Japan Airlines, and Silk Air.
