Renault aims to manufacture a USD 3000 car in India
French car manufacturer Renault is rumored to be working on ambitious plans to develop a cheap car in the Indian market.
This car is likely to cost around USD 3000 which comes to around Rs. 1.20 lakh. Interestingly, Indian automaker Tata Motors is currently scheduled to launch their Rs. 1 lakh car in the Indian market sometime next year.
This rumored report was released by the French newspaper Le Figaro but they did not cite their sources for this information.
India is a competitive market and the cost price of the car is one of the major factors in the purchase decision by the customer.
Renault has already launched their Logan sedan in the Indian market which has been priced very competitively.
The report said that the company is going to open a third “techno center” in India and hire 1,000 engineers to create this super cheap car.
The paper further said that the company has no plans to bring this car in the developing nations.
