Apple settles legal hassles with IP Innovation
Apple Inc. has said in a statement that they have settled their legal differences with IP Innovation which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Acacia Technologies Group.
The two companies have now entered into a settlement and license agreement with Apple covering patents that relate to graphical user interface systems.
This settlement would solve the legal hassles between the two companies lying with the District Court for the Eastern District of Texas with respect to certain Apple products.
Market sources said that Acacia Research Corporation has filed 39 infringement lawsuits since January 2004.
Acacia Technologies Group is quite unpopular for acquiring patents related to a wide variety of industries including audio/video enhancement and synchronization, credit card fraud protection, digital media transmission, digital video production, interactive television and user-activated internet advertising.
