Starbucks likely to open their first cafe in India in Gurgaon this year
Starbucks, the largest coffee chain in the world is all set to enter the Indian market and they are likely to have their first cafe open in the Gurgaon city in India.
The company is also likely to open another outlet in South Delhi at Saket’s Select Citywalk within this year itself.
Starbucks has already hired a small team for research and development, operations and marketing. They also have opened up a office in Gurgaon.
Anoop Sequiera, former CEO of Global Franchise Architects is going to head their Indian operations for the time being and their cafes would be managed by New Horizons.
The company is planning to open 100 stores in India in its first five years and would be investing Rs. 100 crores in this process.
They would become the latest rivals to the existing players in the market like the Cafe Coffee Day and Barista along with Costa.
