Wall Street Journal: Business.com domain is on sale

The Wall Street Journal has reported in a news item that the domain name Business.com along with its search engine is for sale.

The report further said that the sale could fetch as much as $300 million to $400 million.

The domain could potentially interest companies like Dow Jones & Co. and New York Times Co.

The owners of the domain name had acquired the domain for $7.5 million in 1999. It was a record price for a domain like this at that time.

However, the report could not get any confirmed statements from any of the parties said to be involved in the process.

Business.com operates a search engine, directory, and pay-per-click advertising network and gets around six million monthly unique visitors.
