1 billion camera mobile phones in use by the end of the year
Strategy Analytics Ltd. has released a report in which they claim that the world market would have around a billion camera mobile phones in use by the end of this year.
This would reflect on the massive growth of these devices ever since the first product was introduced in the market around seven years ago.
The report also claimed that the sales of these camera mobile phones shot up from about 3 million camera phones in 2001 to 500 million last year.
Neil Mawton, an associate director at the market research company added that the growth rate is now likely to level off starting this year.
People would now start migrating from their existing mobile camera phones to newer feature rich models.
Apple iPhone is the latest camera enabled mobile phone to enter the market. It is primary focused on bringing high end music playing capabilities to the mobile devices and also features a touch screen interface.
