Jetlite tickets to be expensive than budget carriers in India

Jet Airways promoted Jetlite is going to be rebranded by the company. Jet Airways plan to spend $40 million on the revamp.

However, majority of these funds would be provided by airline’s vendors and service providers. The company added that the fares on this airline company would be priced about 15-20% lower than Jet Airways’.

This means that the ticket prices on Jetlite would be somewhat expensive compared to other budget airline companies in the Indian market.

Air Deccan and SpiceJet are the two leading budget airline carriers here in India. Air Deccan fares are also set to rise after the investment in the company by Kingfisher Airlines.

Jet Airways added that JetLite will be run as an independent point-to-point carrier with domestic as well as international operations.

Jetlite also has around ten Boeing 737s on order and these are currently scheduled to enter the service by 2009.
