Marriott International Inc to expand in India
Marriott International Inc has announced that they are now going to expand their Indian presence.
The promoters of the JW Marriott and Ritz Carlton are now aiming to triple its brand portfolio in India by 2010.
The company said that they would now focus its attention on the growing business class traveler, through its brand of Courtyard hotels.
These new properties would be located in the tier I cities like Gurgaon, Noida, Pune, Hyderabad, Ahmadabad etc.
Geoff Garside, executive vice president – Asia Pacific, Marriott spoke on their plans: “We feel eventually, we will have a lot more Courtyards than 5 star properties in India. With the growing number of middle management and senior executive traveling in India, we see substantial demand for business hotels in future especially in the IT and BPO hubs.”
