Nvidia reported to be interested in acquiring Pace Soft Silicon
Graphic card manufacturer Nvidia is said to be interested in acquiring a Santa Clara, Calif. based company Pace Soft Silicon. Pace Soft Silicon’s main development center is located in Pune in India.
This report has been published by a leading Indian national newspaper Times of India and it says that the details of the acquisition have not been released to the media. And the company has declined to comment on this rumor floating in the market.
The news report claimed that Nvidia is aiming to speed up its graphics technology development through the acquisition. Pace Soft specializes in developing mobile media products and components for feature phones, smart phones, PDAs, and personal media players.
Some of its main customers include big names like Samsung, Sagem, Motorola, Sharp Microelectronics, and Renesas. Nvidia itself has a design center based in the Indian city of Bangalore and the company focus on developing technologies and research for next-generation graphics and digital media processors.
