Dubai International acquires a stake in Airbus Parent EADS
Dubai International Capital LLC has acquired a 3.12 percent stake in Airbus Parent company EADS.
Dubai International Capital is basically an investment company controlled by the UAE’s ruling sheikh and has been established to invest in global companies.
Dubai International Chief Executive Officer Sameer al-Ansari said in a statement on this new acquisition: “We are confident that EADS’s superior product offering, comprehensive restructuring program and committed management.”
The stake acquired in EADS is said to be worth around 614 million euros and it would make DIC the fifth-biggest shareholder in the company.
The investment is expected to boost EADS ability to compete more efficiently against the US based airline company Boeing which is the primary competitor of Airbus.
