Mazda Motor launches remodeled Demio in Japan
Mazda Motor Corp. has announced the launch of their remodeled Demio in Japan. The company is hoping that this new model would help it gain sales in this market.
Mazda added that they expect to sell at least 130,000 units a year of this model which is sold as Mazda2 outside Japan.
Mazda Chief Executive Officer Hisakazu added in a statement: “This car is going to serve a very important purpose of building momentum for our new mid-term business plan.”
The original model of Demio was launched in 1996 in Japan and was a huge success. It led to development of similar models from rivals like the Toyota Vitz/Yaris and Honda Fit/Jazz.
The car would cost starting at 1.125 million yen in the Japanese model and is comparable to other higher-end mini vehicles available in the market.
