Toshiba files a lawsuit against German DVD replicator EDD Bizz GmbH over patents
Japanese tech giant Toshiba has filed a patent related lawsuit against German DVD replicator EDD Bizz GmbH.
The company claims that EDD Bizz has been using its technology to manufacture DVDs in Germany without a licensing agreement.
Toshiba technically holds some essential patents for making DVDs and have said that they would vigilantly protect its DVD technology from such manufacturers.
They have filed this lawsuit in the Düsseldorf Regional Court as they aim to stop this patent infringement.
They are demanding a monetary settlement and a licensing agreement from EDD as part of this lawsuit.
