Boeing to invest in a joint venture plan with Air India
US based aircraft manufacturer Boeing has said that they are going to invest 185 million dollars in a joint venture with Air India as part of a deal for the sale of 68 aircraft.
This order for planes include 27 of their just unveiled Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
The two companies added that the planned venture between them would be created to offer maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facilities for Boeing 777 and 787 aircraft to third parties.
The investment fund would include 100 million dollars for setting up the unit, 75 million dollars for training and 10 million dollars for general purposes.
Air India added that they would be deploying the Dreamliner plane on denser routes of Asia, Africa, Europe and the US.
