QANTAS buying an additional 20 Boeing 787 planes
More good news for Boeing as Qantas has now announced their plans to buying another 20 Boeing 787 long-haul aircraft.
This latest acquisition deal would be part of their massive fleet expansion announced 18 months ago.
Qantas Chief executive Geoff Dixon said in a statement that this new order is on top of an order for 65 of these planes they placed in December 2005.
Dixon added that their previously placed order allowed them to get a better pricing and delivery promise from Boeing.
He said: “The additional aircraft will better enable Qantas and Jetstar to take advantage of growth opportunities for point-to-point flying in the Asia-Pacific region, and to new international destinations in Europe, India and the Americas.”
