AT&T launching Wi-Fi wireless broadband internet service in Riverside California
US based telecom giant AT&T is scheduled to launch their first Wi-Fi wireless broadband internet service in the market in Riverside California.
This new service would complement their existing DSL and other services in the region. Incidentally, AT&T’s prime rival Verizon is against municipal wireless broadband connectivity projects.
Philadelphia, New York and San Francisco are some other major cities which are scheduled to get their own wireless internet networks.
For providing their services in Riverside, AT&T is working with MetroFi which is a leading provider of free wireless internet access.
The two company claims that when their network is completely deployed, it would be the nation’s largest Wi-Fi deployment for both municipal and public use.
