Is Renault talking with Bajaj for their planned cheap car for India?

The latest rumor in the market concerning the Renault’s planned cheap car for the Indian market is that the company is now in talks with the two wheeler manufacturer Bajaj Auto.

Incidentally, their current partners (for Renault Logan) Mahindra has somewhat rejected the rumors that they are going to work with Renault on the USD 3000 car for India.

The reports in the market states that a possible partnership between Bajaj and Renault could be part of “a larger alliance” between the two companies covering commercial vehicles, as well.

However, Bajaj Auto executive director Sanjiv Bajaj somewhat denied these latest rumors in the market by saying that he has no idea about any talks going on between the two companies.

Bajaj itself has said that they are working on developing a four-wheeled vehicle which would essentially be a cargo carrier. The company is also said to be working on a small car project.
