Motorola posts losses in the second quarter of the year

Motorola continues to struggle in the mobile phone market and has now posted a $28 million second-quarter loss.

This is the Motorola’s first back-to-back losses in five years. Market analysts are already saying that the company has already lost their second spot on the world’s largest mobile phone makers list with Samsung overtaking them.

Motorola said in a statement that it expects financial performance to improve in its cell-phone unit in the second half.

Chief Executive Ed Zander admitted that they have failed to bring a successful replacement to their Razr range of mobile phone products in the market.

He said: “This has certainly been a very difficult year. We’re doing the right things, that’s all I can say at this point.”
