Honda Siel Car India recalling Accords to replace a relay in the fuel-pump of the car
Honda’s Indian division Honda Siel Car India has announced that they are now recalling around 2,310 units of their Accord luxury sedan models to replace a relay in the fuel-pump of the car.
Incidentally, they are not alone to be facing problems with the quality control on their products in the Indian market. Bajaj recently faced issues with the initial batches of the Pulsar 200 bike. Tata Motors and Maruti have also recalled vehicles in the recent years to fix problems with batches of their cars.
Unfortunately, this is the second recall being made by the Honda’s Indian unit. Earlier they had recalled 4,459 units of its premium SUV model CR-V for a free fuel tank replacement.
The problem is similar the issues in the same model which were also sold in other markets like Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, the Middle East and Central America.
HSCI senior GM Jnaneshwar Sen said in a statement on this latest recall: “We have not received any complaint in India yet, but these changes are being made as part of the global campaign for complete safety of our vehicle. In all, we have sold 13,319 Accords, but these changes make up for only a small part of the total sales.”
