Infosys Technologies acquires Philips BPO business operations

India based IT company Infosys has announced that they have bagged a mega deal from Royal Philips Electronics.

The company has received a $250-million contract from Royal Philips Electronics.

Infosys would also be acquiring Philips’ finance and accounts business process outsourcing (BPO) centers.

They are going to pay around Rs 110 crore to Philips for this acquisition deal.

The two companies signed on a seven-year contract as per which Infosys would provide finance and accounting services and processing of purchasing orders.

Incidentally, this is just the second acquisition made by Infosys in its 25-year history. They had earlier acquired Expert Information Services in Australia for around Rs 104 crore in 2003.
