NFL Star Jason Taylor Partners with Office Depot Foundation to Support Educational Opportunities for South Florida Youth

Partnership Includes Exciting “Sack Pack” Program Tied to Jason’s Success on the Field

The Office Depot Foundation, today announced a new partnership with the Jason Taylor Foundation. The Office Depot Foundation is contributing $25,000 as well as computers, backpacks and school supplies to the Jason Taylor Foundation in support of its philanthropic mission to brighten the future for South Florida children. The Office Depot Foundation will also donate $1,000 for every sack of an opposing quarterback that the Miami Dolphins All-Pro Defensive End makes during the 2007-2008 football season.

Taylor, the 2006 Associated Press NFL Defensive Player of the Year, is widely acknowledged for his charitable efforts. He and his wife, Katina, established the Jason Taylor Foundation in 2004.

The wide-ranging partnership between the two foundations includes the following elements:
A $25,000 donation for the Jason Taylor Scholars Program, a school-based program designed to lower poverty and academic failure for low-income, at-risk children in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties.
A $1,000 donation to the Jason Taylor Foundation for every sack Jason registers during the 2007-2008 season (with a minimum donation of $10,000)
Computers for the Jason Taylor Reading Room
1,000 backpacks through the Office Depot Foundation’s 2007 National Backpack Program
1,000 school “Sack Packs” for deserving students in South Florida
School supplies for children participating in the Jason Taylor Scholars Program who achieve the outlined goals
Sack Packs for children attending the Jason Taylor Foundation’s “Big Screens-Big Dreams” movie screenings
