Maruti Udyog Limited to be renamed Maruti Suzuki

India’s leading car manufacturer Maruti Udyog has announced that they are now planning to change the name of the company to Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.

However, this name change would require the approval from shareholders and the Registrar of Companies.

They are planning to ask for permission from the shareholders at the upcoming annual general meeting.

Market analysts believe that this name change would help the company showcase their Japanese link.
