Chrysler Group to offer lifetime warranty on their new vehicles
US based auto maker Chrysler Group has announced that they would begin offering a “lifetime” powertrain warranty on almost all of its new vehicles.
The aim is to boost sales and consumer confidence in their vehicles in the US market.
This warranty would cover the engine, transmission and drive systems on Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge models.
It would last till the time a first-time owner drives the vehicle. This would replace the company’s current three-year, 36,000-mile warranty.
However, this warranty would not be applicable if the vehicle is sold to another party.
Chrysler said that they had to take this step as the improved quality offered by their vehicles has not been fully recognized by American consumers.
This warranty offer however is not going to be offered on the company’s diesel-driven vehicles and its performance-oriented SRT line of vehicles.
