3M and Sony settles their battery patent dispute
3M Co. has announced that they have now settled their dispute with Sony regarding a lithium-ion battery cathode patent dispute.
Sony Corp. and Sony Electronics Inc. are now going to license sources of batteries containing 3M’s cathode technology.
The two companies have not given other relevant details related to this agreement signed between them.
3M had earlier this year settled a similar patent dispute with Japan’s Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. Ltd.
They are now continuing to pursue similar cases against other hardware manufacturers including Lenovo Group, Hitachi, CDW and Sanyo.
