Lufthansa wants in-flight internet service back
Lufthansa has announced that they are now stepping up their efforts to get back the in-flight internet service that allowed business people to stay connected to the internet while flying to their destination.
Lufthansa spokesman Michael Lamberty said in a statement: “We would like to see the service relaunched as soon as possible and are in talks with a number of companies to form a new operating consortium.”
Market sources say that the airline company could collaborate with satellite operators, wireless companies, and content providers to bring back this service in its full glory.
They were one of the major customers of the Connexion by Boeing service which has now been discontinued.
They had equipped as many as 60 of their long-haul planes to provide this in-flight internet service to their customers.
Boeing had stated that they failed to find a buyer for this service and had to close it down due to lack of customers in the US market.
