Wipro acquiring US based Infocrossing Inc.

Indian IT company Wipro has announced their decision to acquire US based Infocrossing Inc. which specializes in providing information technology outsourcing.

The deal is worth around USD 600 million and is going to add more customers to Wipro. The company would also be able to provide more services.

The company added that they would be merging this acquired entity with their US based unit. Market analysts believe that this acquisition is the largest ever by an Indian technology company.

Wipro is not the only IT company in India to be looking at acquisitions. Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. and Infosys Technologies Ltd. have also been buying software services companies overseas to enhance their service offerings.

K.R. Lakshmi Narayana, chief financial officer at Wipro’s IT business said in a statement that they expect the combined business is expected to touch $1 billion in 24 to 36 months.
