IBM acquires privately held WebDialogs Inc.

US based tech giant IBM has announced their latest acquisition. They have now taken over the operations of privately held WebDialogs Inc.

With this they would now challenge Cisco Systems Inc. in the market of providing conferencing services over the Web.

WebDialogs Inc. is based in Billerica, Massachusetts and as around 500,000 customers. Incidentally, IBM already has Lotus division which sell similar software solutions to their customers.

IBM did not disclose the financial aspects of their acquisition. One of the biggest rivals to this new divisions of there is WebEx which is now part of Cisco.
