VeriSign to acquire m-Qube
Internet security company VeriSign has confirmed that they are going to acquire the privately held mobile services billing and delivery company m-Qube. The deal is worth around $250 million.
VeriSign described this deal as a ‘net of cash’ transaction considering cash is already on hand at m-Qube. The deal would be closed by the second quarter of the current year. VeriSign added that the deal would be neutral to earnings for the remainder of 2006.
This deal is part of their plans to expand their services in digital media platforms to enable carriers, Internet portals, media companies, and consumer brands to provide mobile and broadband services.
Services provided by m-Qube would compliment the services of 3united Mobile Solutions, which VeriSign acquired sometime ago. They also recently acquired another broadband media services company Kontiki.
