VeriFone Promotes William C. Nichols to Head Asia Pacific Region

VeriFone Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: PAY) today announced the promotion of William C. Nichols to senior vice president, Asia Pacific, where he will be instrumental in the company’s goal of promoting its newest products and solutions into key markets.

Lazy Yanay, formerly managing director, Asia, has been named managing director, Business Development. Both will report directly to VeriFone Chairman and CEO Douglas G. Bergeron.

Nichols, formerly vice president, Global Marketing and Business Development, will be responsible for emerging payments markets in China, India, North East and Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand. He will also retain his role as head of global marketing, with responsibility for product strategy and global demand generation programs.

“We continue to broaden our product set in all geographies and make great headway as the industry leader in so many areas,” said Bergeron. “Bill Nichols and Lazy Yanay will be instrumental in our efforts to accelerate growth in key markets.”

Prior to the acquisition of Lipman in October 2006, Nichols served as vice president and general manager of the emerging market region, comprised of Latin America, the Caribbean and the Asia Pacific business units. Prior to that assignment he served as vice president of international marketing. He joined VeriFone in 1995 by opening the VeriFone do Brazil office and serving as its first general manager.
