BenQ to no longer concentrate on mobile phones

The mobile phone industry has become increasingly competitive and it is clear from the stance taken by the BenQ Corp. which has now been relaunched as a new corporate entity.

The company would focus on digital projectors, computer monitors and other electronics. Mobile phones are no longer a priority.

The new form of the company is essentially a branded division of Qisda Corp. This company is the manufacturing side of the former BenQ.

They are planning to spin off the new BenQ brand once it is healthy in the coming years.

The company said that they would still market handsets and focus on select markets but they no longer plan to spend big on marketing.
