International Trade Commission investigating Nokia related to patent disputes
International Trade Commission has now launched a probe into Nokia mobile handsets which are said to be infringing on patents held by InterDigital Communications.
InterDigital had filed a complaint with the ITC on Aug. 7 and said that Nokia N75 handset infringed on two of their patents.
ITC said in its statement on this issue: “By instituting this investigation, the ITC has not yet made any decision on the merits of the case.”
InterDigital is now seeking a ban on imports of this particular mobile phone made by the world’s largest mobile phone maker.
They are also seeking a cease and desist order to bar further sales of models which have already been imported in the US market.
