Satyam Computers launches Automotive Centre of Excellence
Indian IT industry giants Satyam Computers have launched its Automotive Centre of Excellence (ACE) in the city of Detroit in the United States. The company claims that this center would enable it to engage better with their clients located in the country.
The company has further plans to establish more such ACE units at Chennai, Germany and Tokyo. These plans were revealed by the company’s Director and Senior VP-Manufacturing and Automotive business unit, Subu D Subramanian.
The ACE located in Detroit is built over an area of 6,000 sq ft and the company has claimed that it would house over 50 engineers initially and the staff strength would be scaled up over the years. This unit from the company would focus on automotive industry specific solution building and R and D.
They would be helped by the company’s alliances with leading industry domain and technology solution providers and educational institutions. It has already signed on memorandum of understanding with IIT-Madras and has further plans to tie up similar deals with MIT, USA, for acquiring basic knowledge and trends in emerging technologies.
