Volvo India has revealed that they have set themselves the target to sell around 10,000 cars in the Indian market by 2010.
The company is now working on their plans to launch their S40 sedan on Indian roads by 2009.
Volvo Car Corporation President (Overseas Operation) Peter Cornelis said in a statement on their goals: “There is a possibility that we will be able to sell 10,000 units of our cars in the Indian market in view of the growth being witnessed by luxury and premium car segments in the country.”
Volvo has already launched two products S80-sedan and XC90-SUV here.
About the S40 sedan, the company said: “We find that S40, a small sedan, will be our next launch but it will only happen in early 2009.”
