Ford India exporting Fiesta Sedan to South Africa
Ford India has confirmed that they are now exporting their Fiesta sedan from their Indian plants to the South African market.
They are hoping to sell 5000 units of the Fiesta in that market this year through this route.
This is incidentally the first time Ford is exporting vehicles manufactured in the Maraimalainagar plant of the company to South Africa.
Till now they have been exporting assembly kits from their Indian plants. Ford Fiesta has been a fairly successful model in the Indian market with sales of around 50,000 units.
Ford (India) President Aravind Mathew said in a statement: “The company need not expand its capacity for exporting vehicles to South Africa. Ford South Africa, which has 131 dealers, would market the vehicles in that country.”
