Honda Civic recall not applicable to India
Japanese automaker Honda has stated that their recently announced recall of their Civic sedans is not applicable to the Indian market.
Honda Civic is available in India. Honda is recalling around 1.8 lakh units of its luxury sedan Civic globally.
Honda Siel Car India Senior General Manager (Marketing) Jnaneswar Sen said in a statement: “Honda does not require a recall in India as the problem does not affect our vehicles here.”
The recalled Civic units were manufactured between March 24, 2005 and February 8, 2007 and the problem lies in the faulty wheel-bearing seal that may leak and cause malfunctioning of brake switch thereby preventing illumination of lights on braking.
Honda India added that the recall is primarily targeted at the vehicles sold in the US and Canada which are left hand drive models.
